My 2010 World Series Thoughts

Okay, so I didn't think either team would get to this point. That doesn't mean anything except that postseason experience isn't always so important. That won't come into play here, because the Texas Rangers have never been to the World Series and the San Francisco Giants haven't been here since 2002, almost a lifetime ago in baseball years. If my guess is true I won't be too happy because while they're the Texas Rangers, it's basically a Dallas team, and we all know Dallas sucks. Plus, the Rangers are the team that used to be owned by George W. Bush, and who wants him to celebrate anything? Unfortunately, Texas will win. Unlike the Phillies, the Rangers have hit well all year and continued to do so in the playoffs. The Giants can't match the Rangers' hitting prowess, and while they have a strong pitching staff, they don't have Cliff Lee. Rangers in 5.

  1. Why the bloody hell didn't Philly keep Cliff? Was Oswalt a step up? He's good but, wtf, Cliff Lee is cock fucking diesel, no? That fucker owns.

  2. Well, right now Lee is actually losing to the Giants 5-2. Anway, the Phillies said that, after talking to Lee and/or his agent, they didn't think Lee would re-sign after 2010, that Lee wanted a maximum contract or he'd leave as a free agent. Halladay could have just played his last year with Toronto and signed for more years and more money, but he wanted to come here and was willing to sign for just a 3-yr extension at a little less than top dollar. So the Phils traded prospects for Halladay (after doing the same for Lee in 2009). They then decided it was a good idea to get some prospects for Lee instead of keeping him for the year. A lot of people saw that as a mistake, and they see the trade for Oswalt as the Phils' admission that they were wrong to not keep both Lee and Halladay.
