Mom's Music

A few years ago my mom received an mp3 player as a gift, so she wrote out a list of songs and asked if I could put them on the player. So here's a list of 200 of her favorites. This is just the collection that made it onto the player. Looking at the worksheet which I created, there are some songs that didn't make it for some reason. Either they weren't online at all for me to download, or the quality was poor, or she wasn't sure of the song title or artist and I couldn't figure out exactly which song she wanted.

Also, I should point out that she adored Rod Stewart, but she had many CDs with his music so she didn't bother to have any of it put onto the mp3 player.

I was just going to post the video of "Devil Inside" by INXS but decided to expand this a bit. So, in addition, you'll find a live version from a Wembley Stadium concert as well, plus a list of other songs in my iTunes library with "devil" in the title.

Meanwhile, whether it's because of the Devil or just some generic devil, I still feel stuck in a real rut in many ways. Maybe warmer temperatures will help. By Sunday we may be pushing 50 degrees, and by next Thursday there's a chance of it even getting to 60.

TLFT stands for "Too Long For Twitter" -- just a random thought I had that, unfortunately, I can't find a way to shrink to 140 characters. Anyhoo..."Return To Sender" by Elvis Presley came up in the iTunes shuffle, and it occurred to me that modern technology has made it so that song lyrics will never be the same. "Delivery to the following recipients failed permanently" in an e-mail failure notice will never lead to a classic like "return to sender/address unknown/no such number/no such zone." Someday, when snail mail is but a distant memory, who's going to understand what "Return To Sender" is talking about?
